Henna Brows vs. Tattoo Brows

Henna Brows vs. Tattoo Brows

Esstudio Galleria prides itself on top quality treatments this includes our Henna Brows;

The bespoke eyebrow treatment that is completely personalised to you!

Esstudio Galleria has introduced their new bespoke Henna Brow Treatment – an eyebrow solution completely personalised to you. The new treatment is now offered as a better, semi permanent option than eyebrow tattooing. Henna is the perfect alternative for those who want the bold look with little commitment.

Jacqui Arnold, Co-Founder and Beauty Director of Esstudio Galleria says, “Our bespoke henna eyebrow treatment is so much more than a standard eyebrow wax and tint. We custom-blend colour to suit your brow hair and skin tone and with the precise hair removal it creates brows that complement you and your style personally.”

Both henna and tattoo eyebrow treatments are most suited for those who want to restructure, define, cover or fill over-plucked brows. Both treatments being most popular for those who can no longer gain any natural hair growth, or to those who want to achieve a better bolder brow. The henna brow is the safest way with less commitment that will look just as good, if not better!

Henna is currently trending for a reason! Many women want the look of full brows that microblading can offer, but don’t want the pricetag or commitment of a full cosmetic procedure. Henna is a beautiful compromise – it creates the illusion of fuller brows by staining the skin, much in the same way microblading creates the appearance of extra brow hair.

Henna Brows:

BEFORE

AFTER

Henna lasts up to 5 weeks on the hair with 3 weeks wear on the skin giving you an overall look of a tattoo. There are so many options to have with the henna option.  With henna, eyebrows can be as dark or as subtle as requested. Colours are mixed to suit each individual.

Tattoo Brows:

Tattoo eyebrow treatment lasts generally 2 years, depending on your skin type.  Pigment is implanted into the skin, with a fine needle hand-held tool or tattoo machine that creates hair-like strokes to mimic the appearance of a natural looking brow.

“Tattoo brow treatment is not suited to everyone. Many people with oily or dewy skin types won’t have success maintaining the pigment. Once the pigment has been implemented, the colour is harder to reverse. Our new henna brow treatment is the perfect, natural looking brow and the best part is that it is suitable for everyone to try,” says Jacqui.

Is hair Smelting the new Balayage?? ELLE spoke to Aleks from Esstudio Galleria pioneering 2018’s latest colour technique, read up to get down-low. Find ELLE Aus  FB post here. The story also made it to ELLE Netherlands. “We discovered the smelting technique when experimenting with new ways to repair and restore bad colour jobs, fix banding issues and clean up home hair colours gone bad. Smelt is melting down the roots and smudging colours throughout the hair.

As the name suggests, smelting involves smudging and melting colours together to create a blended and seamless finish. Abadia explains, “smelting is all about blending the roots and ends into two colours. Read the full article at the Beauty Crew site here.

The new smelting colouring technique involves lifting the overall colour to the lightest levels of blonde from roots to the ends. This will give hair extra volume, body and create loads of texture with tones and depth of colour shades. This allows us to play with smelting colours from roots to the ends, creating amazing texture, dimension and movement to the hair,” said Aleks. Read full article at Beauty 101

7 Beauty Essentials For Summer

Now that the blitz has gone, ok slight exaggeration there but hey no one likes winter and boy am I glad its gone! It’s time to make some changes in your beauty regimen for summer. Here are 7 beauty essentials for summer

1. Mattifying Primer

If you already use primers, that’s great but opt for one that’s mattifying because this Aussie heat will have your makeup dripping  down your face. My favorite is Mac Prep + Prime.

2.Blotting Paper

Listen, If I’m going to expend blood, sweat and tears it’s not going to be over if my makeup is going to withstand the rigors of the day. So get yourself some blotting paper and take it with you everywhere! The Clean & Clear Instant Oil Absorbing Oil Sheets are great, inexpensive too!

3. Waterproof Formulas

Sweat is part water and you don’t want racoon eyes by the time 5 o’clock rolls by. So switch to waterproof mascara, eyeliner, foundation, eyeshadow, lipstick, blusher- Basically, what I’m trying to say here is waterproof everything!  Try Mac’s Zoom Waterfast  Lash Mascara

4. Mineral Makeup

I hardly wear makeup during the hot months of summer but when I do its very minimal and light and the best way to get this is by using mineral makeup makeup. Its very light and doesn’t make you look cakey. I love Nude by Nature, they have wide range mineral makeup to choose from

5. SPF

This is non-negotiable. No matter what the weather, slap that sunscreen on! Even if its a cold and cloudy day you can risk the chances of premature aging skin if you don’t apply sunscreen. Moisturisers with SPF are great to, try  La Clinica’s Sunscreen Lotion

6.Pretty Paws & Claws

People will hardly notice you are sweating when your nails look amazing! It’s scientifically proven. Ok, fine, it’s not, but I still say book an appointment with Jax and she will have your nails looking awesome.

7. Moisturisring Hair Treatment

With all the swimming and heat from the sun, your hair is going to get dryer than the Sahara Desert . So give your hair some tender loving care and apply a hair moisturising treatment once a week. The O&M  Seven Day Miracle masque is great for an once a week treatment, it gives your hair a shot of intense moisture  that it needs with the blend of unique organic oils. We actually stock O&M at Esstudio too!

TOOLS OF THE TRADE – FOUNDATION

spongebrushWhen it comes to applying your foundation you have three options – a foundation brush, a foundation sponge and your fingers. Let me start by telling you to avoid using your fingers at all costs. Using your hands to apply your foundation can mean losing up to 50% of the product on your hand. Not cool.

Then we have the foundation sponge. The Beauty Blender has taken the industry by storm because of its egg-shaped ‘no edges’ design. This leaves a perfectly airbrushed complexion behind. A tip to prevent your sponge from absorbing too much product is to wet the sponge down with water first and then squeeze it all out before dipping into your foundation.

A stippling brush is perfect for foundation. The brush is made up of shorter natural bristles and longer synthetic bristles. The dual-fiber brush is used for buffing and stippling foundation into your skin. To ‘stipple’ foundation for an airbrushed look, dip just the very tips of the bristles into your liquid foundation and gently press it into your skin.

TIPS FOR TANNERS

14_indoor_tanning_airbrush_2

Now that Summer has arrived, a spray tan is pretty much a necessity to ease you back into lazy days at the beach. I mean, nobody wants to be that pasty girl on the sand, sparkling like a disco ball, right? But with a spray tan comes that niggling doubt of what if – what if I go orange? What if I go patchy? Or streaky? Well below I have written my very own guide to the ultimate spray tan so that you can make the most out of this summer.

First of all, exfoliation is key. A spray tan works by staining the outer layer of your skin cells darker (not as scary as it sounds – trust me). By exfoliating, you are removing the dead skin cells that would have flaked off in a couple of days and leaving behind younger skin cells that will stick around much longer which means a more even and longer lasting tan.

On the day of your spray tan, don’t wear any deodorant, perfume or moisturizer to your appointment. Not only do these products create a barrier between your skin and the tan (and only where you have applied it – hello patchy tan!), but deodorant can also turn your tan green! Not a good look.

Once your tan has been applied, don’t swim, shower or sweat until the development time is over. This can range anywhere from 30 minutes to eight hours, so make sure that you check before you leave your appointment! Make sure that if you have an Express Tan (30mins-4 hours) that you don’t leave it on longer than the recommended development time – it can overdevelop and may go orange. If you have a 6-8 hour tan then this won’t overdevelop and can be left overnight.

Once your tan has developed, jump in the shower and use a sulphate-free shower gel to cleanse your skin as sulphates found in other body wash products can strip your tan. After showering, pat your skin dry with your towel rather than rub so that you don’t prematurely fade the tan.

Make sure that you use a body butter every day – morning and night – to keep your skin hydrated as this will prevent dead skin cells flaking off and taking your tan with them!

Avoid chlorinated pools, the beach and hot showers as these can all cause premature fading.

Enjoy your summer!
