Now styling, forget that myth where you can’t wash your hair too much, flip that myth the bird!! Why you ask ?! Cause its your god dam hair that’s why!
Wash it as much as you like! I wash my hair every day! Why again you ask? Cause its fine and limp!! and i can’t re create what I did the day before because after I have slept on it, its so flat and in-cooperative it makes me want to cry!
So what do i do , I wash it and blast dry it every day to add extra body and volume and that’s how I tell my hair who is boss!

Tips on how to style that super fine hair are as follows:
Blowy dry blow-dry blow-dry- you have to get air and body into the few and far strands  you have so it bounces and builds!
Before blow drying I looooooooooove Mouse!! Especially mouse that gives body and hold but doesn’t make it stiff and sticky- I really love the (Sebastian whipped creme) not only does it work, but it smells amazing and is so pretty when you squeeze it into your hand it actually does look like whipped cream, it really does look good enough to eat!
You can then add a few waves or kinks in your locks with wands, straighteners etc whatever you have to give movement
Then to finish, powder. yes that’s right i said powder! I am so obsessed with this stuff I would line up to buy it like a 12 year old girl lining up for tickets to see one direction! That obsessed!!!
(the rock star powder lightest hold and Alfaparf VintageE for a Stronger hold)

These powders add texture and grit with hold but moveable hold and that look of sex hair (not bed hair but sexy sex hair) with a mix of “my hair is so great I just woke up like this’
Make sure you ask your stylist about the powder!!

Nasty Polish

MjAxMy1kZDJkOWQ5ZjAwZmE4ODI3

Are you aware of the potential dangers of your pretty named nail polish ?
With cute names like bubble bath or Strawberry shortcake,  are you blinded from the potential dangers of these polishes?  With some scary ingredients that are known cancer causing chemicals and those toxic to the nervous system.

The top three worst chemicals of concern are toluene, dibutyl phalate (dbp) and formaldehyde – the TOXIC TRIO.

DBP is now banned from cosmetics in the EU, but the other two are still allowed.
It is a commonly used to make plastic.  It is also used as an additive to adhesives or printing inks.  It is a suspected endocrine disruptor.  Meaning its bad for your hormones!

Toluene, a solvent and pain thinner, is a potent neurotoxicant ( toxic to the nervous system) that acts as an irritant, impairs breathing and causes nausea, according to EWG. It’s especially hazardous if your pregnant, as breathing in toluene vapours can harm your unborn baby.

Formaldehyde, on the other hand, is commonly found in nail-hardening formulas and is a known allergen classified as “carcinogenic to humans”.  We’ve all heard of formaldehyde.
I’ve had a few clients that have said their nail has fallen off using nail hardeners.  It is the main ingredient in hardeners. Formaldehyde is highly toxic to all animals, regardless of method of intake. Ingestion of 30 mL (1 oz.) of a solution containing 37% formaldehyde has been reported to cause death in an adult human.[28] Water solution of formaldehyde is very corrosive and its ingestion can cause severe injury to the upper gastrointestinal tract.  There is so many wrong things with Formaldehyde.

Fortunately, a number of beauty brands, including some mainstream ones, are now phasing out these chemicals, and are proudly 3 free already. A few have gone 4 and 5 by also excluding Formaldehyde resins from their formulas and / or camphor, a strong smelling plasticizer that can be an irritant in large amount.

Our favorite polish that we use at Esstudio is Hello Darling which is 5 Free! (meaning absolutely NO toulene, formaldehyde/formaldehyde resin, DBP or camphor) and are animal testing & cruelty free. They didn’t stop there – it is also  free of parabens, phthalates, SLS and SLES, and source low-toxicity & biodegradable ingredients to make it as safe as possible to humans, with minimal impact on the environment and other living beings.

BE KIND

Orangutan2_468x619

Did you know that the single greatest threat facing orangutans today is habitat loss? The expanding palm oil industry has been a key factor of this deforestation. It sucks because a large percentage of hair and beauty products contain palm oil, but here at Esstudio Galleria we make a conscious effort to only use products that are free of all palm oil.

THE UNDERCUT

It’s been undercut central here at Esstudio lately. With our clients drawing inspiration from celebrities like Rihanna (Thank God her mullet style didn’t take off) it’s becoming more and more popular every day. What do you think? Are you brave enough to take the plunge?

THEM BROWS – HOW TO ROCK THE FULL BROW TREND

Cara Delevingne. Demi Lovato. Lily Collins. Audrey Hepburn. Emma Watson. Rita Ora. I love them. Every single one of them. Why? Look no further than their incredible eyebrows. The full-brow trend has been around for a couple of years now and it doesn’t look like its going anywhere fast. That’s great news if, like me, you’ve been bestowed a thick, fluffy pair by the eyebrow gods. But for some, this means undoing years of plucking, threading and waxing in a quest to grow the ever elusive ‘power-brow’.

The key to making this trend work for you is to work out where your arch belongs. The easiest way to do this is to grab a pencil and slant it from the bottom of your nostril to the middle of your iris. Follow this line until you reach your eyebrow – that’s where your arch should sit. If you can nail the right shape for your face, then you’ll be working your brows like nobody’s business. Just remember that your eyebrows are not twins – they’re sisters. They aren’t identical and they’re not supposed to be.

If your eyebrows are a bit fair go to your nearest salon and get an eyebrow tint to darken and define those babies. Too sparse? No dramas – pick up a brow pencil or powder and fill those suckers in. Just remember that you don’t actually need a colour that much darker than your natural colour – one shade should do it. The last thing that you want is a pair of big, dark caterpillars sitting on your face. You can finish off the look with a brow gel to set them for the rest of the day.
